Shortly after Christmas in Australia the celebrations for New year in Australia are going to start and people will all be excited about it. New year in Australia is celebrated with full enthusiasm and passion as people want to enter into new year with positive energy and want to leave all the negative stuff behind. Individuals set their own new year affirmations which they hope that they would most certainly be able to fulfill in the coming year. So, for welcoming the new year and in hope that one would be able accomplish everything which they wished for people celebrate New Year Eve in Australia.

New Year Eve Celebration in Sydney

As most of know the new year eve is celebrated at midnight after the clock hits 12 AM. Friends, family, coworkers all gather to see the New Year Fireworks. Though every city is Australia celebrates new year eve in their own special way, but Sydney is known for its celebration that is done on the New Years Eve. The event is an annual multi-tiered that has an attendance of about 1.6 million people every year.

There is a common misconception that Australia is the first one to receive New Year throughout the globe however that is exactly not the case. Though fireworks exploding in Sydney Harbor symbolize the start of global new year, but Australia was not the first one to receive it.

Activities to do on New Year Eve in Australia

Watching fireworks on the New Year’s Eve is one-of-a-kind activities which no one wants to miss new year. People travel miles and miles just to see the best fireworks in their city. If you ask me then seeing fireworks on a New Years Eve is a special activity. People also go to clubs and bars and then have drinks with friends in the celebration of New Year.

There are after parties as well which people host at their houses. Like there are barbeque parties or just one dish parties in which everyone has to bring at least one cooked meal from their home which they all will enjoy together. Other than that people also go on boat cruises, urban parklands, or cruises for making the full out of the night.

New Year Day Celebrations in Australia

The activities do not just end on the New Year’s Eve, but the celebrations actually go up to the New Years Day. Co-workers celebrate New Year in offices, friends and family also gather to have lunch or dinner together in order to start the New Year together with a positive energy and to get a good start of the year. These are some of the traditions which should be followed on the actual New Year’s Day.

Places to go for New Year’s in Australia

There are 5 places which have made to the top of list that you should visit for spending your New Years Eve. The first one is of course Sydney. Second is Lord Howe Island NSW, third is Hobart, Tasmania, fourth is Melbourne Victoria and the fifth one is Coolangatta and Tweed Heads.
